Joseph Kearney has been teaching adults for thirty four years since instructing electronics in the U.S. Army Signal Corp. He received his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and his doctorate from the University of Michigan. He has done corporate work in market research, forecasting, and operations research, and has been teaching college statistics and math related courses since 1977. Joseph is also a certified flight instructor and currently is a part time copilot on a corporate jet. He is a ten-time marathoner with plans to marathon for another ten years. Joseph lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan and has two grown sons.

Joseph learned the craft of shipbuilding from his father, a physician whose surgical instruments he still uses for his work.

It is his wish that this site commemorate the Doria's presence in the history of great ocean liners.
